Sandley
This beautiful Georgian country house was originally constructed in 1820 but had lost much of its interior fabric. The rear of the house was reconstructed with a new wing to provide streamlined circulation, a principal bedroom suite and new family rooms. A comprehensive programme of interior redesign was undertaken to rejuvenate the interior. Extensive research was conducted to recreate a sense of lost history in collaboration with the client and with furniture specialist Edward Hurst.
We worked with landscape designer Pip Morrison to reshape the terraced lawns around the extended house, so that the building and its interiors sit comfortably in their landscape setting.
We also worked with the owners on their outbuildings including a home office, storage sheds, conversion of a dairy into staff accommodation, a new tennis court pavillion and redesigning the old stable courtyard as a pool house.
